Receiving the visa code before arriving will facilitate and accelerate the process of visa collection on arrival at the airport.
What is Iran Visa Code
Visa code is an 18-digit number which the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issues. Receiving the visa code before arriving will facilitate and accelerate the process of visa collection on arrival at the airport. Travelers can obtain this code with the help of travel agencies that are active in Iran. Therefore, applicants need to send required documents including the visa form, personal photo, and the first page of passport scan to the Iranian travel agency.
After the process completed and the application confirmed, MFA will issue the code and send it to the travel agency. Then, travel agency sends visa code to the applicant to get the visa from Iran embassy or consulate in her/his home country or Iran airports.
Iran Visa code in visa on arrival and visa in advance?
In case of visa on arrival, after applicants receive their visa code, they can apply for their visa in one of the airports in Iran. In case of visa in advance, after the applicants receive their visa code, they can refer to an Iranian consulate/embassy in their home country and hand in the other necessary documents to collect their Iran visa at the same consulate/embassy. When applicants refer to the consulate/embassy, they are asked to fill out a form. Applicants need to write their visa codes which have already received from the Iranian travel agency. They should pay great attention to acquire the visa code before going to the consulate/embassy.
Sending the visa code takes time depending on your nationality. It needs around 5-7 working days for most nationalities. For the Americans, British, and Canadians it will take more time around 1-2 months.
